The Beginning
It’s 2020 and it all started as a simple brief for a rebrand. The original first brand identity – was not answering on a lot of questions and of course hasn’t been matching client expectations according the company industry and trends. This all signalled something more –Envoy didn’t just need a new visual identity; it needed a brand that could express the vision of its founders and guide and support its business through exponential growth and the future of the Supply Chain industry and DeFi technologies.
About the project
Envoy – digital ecosystem is a complex network of stakeholders that connect online and interact digitally in ways that create value for all. The recent pandemic and geo-political issues have added considerable pressure on a broken system already on life support, leading to increased shipping costs and lengthened delivery times. That while Envoy creating digital supply chain ecosystem.
Client needs
Envoy seeks to save clients’ time and make its services intuitive and effortless. Hence, the new visual look needed to prove the company’s expertise in turning good solutions into the best practices and experiences. Aiming to become the main competence center for supply chain solutions, Envoy needed its new brand to reflect its progressive agenda. For this, we created an identity system that consists of disruptive design, V as main part of the element and of course “V” pattern and illustration in 3D perspective with realistic approach.
The Process / Immersion
To get a full picture of the heritage and essence of the brand, we immersed ourselves in the world of Trading, Supply Chain, Logistics and Envoy. We spent our days at logistics warehouses, airports, sea ports, did a numerous of tests, met teams and partners across the whole business and signed up for a some consultancies. Immersion workshop with client made a fully understandings, how the brand should looks like, what are the values, who are the real target competitors and also defined the Envoy solutions and what problems on the market they are solving.
The first step was to overhaul Envoy visual design system, working through different variations and concepts. We took inspiration from Asian K-pop and Urban style, and insights from partners and internal teams to ultimately restructure the information architecture around the core needs of the business structure.
The content strategy, art direction, experience and structure of core elements were redesigned – from the functional to the inspirational. This resulted in higher value content that customers could find more easily, further amplifying the reasons of using Envoy. Then we moved to the Brand Identity system creation.
Design value
To fully broadcast the message, the brand uses graphic element that supports the principles already established by the logo. The graphic components are embracing moments of both clear structure and visual impact, leading with a dark purple colour palette, mixing headlines with colour-blocked shapes and icons. The whole identity system is based on Envoy’s expertise, trust, versatility and innovation.
Investing into a visual identity should have a return for years to come. That’s why we create identity systems that can be adapted to different formats and marketing materials or even extended to cover new business ventures or side projects when a brand expands.
“A new stage in our history is starting. I’m immensely proud of what we achieved together through a uniquely collaborative and fundamentally democratic process – one that involved input and investment from everyone across the company. Launching was an important moment but it was just the beginning. Now it’s down to all of us to continue bringing our Mission to life, both in what we do but also how we do it.”
